If you were at the school's library this week (also last week but it wasn't as 'severe' compared to this week) you may have witnessed many students who had been stricken with common cold.Coughing, sneezing, the sounds of sniffles, basically the atmosphere was considered unbreathable for those who did not want to catch it, like me. However, the library is the place for students to study or relax. You can't escape. Sooner or later you may be stricken with the common cold. And so, I eventually caught the common cold. Yay! (no, not really).
On Wednesday, the symptoms had gotten worst most likely because of Tuesday's prolonged use of staring at the screen of my iPod. I think it has something to do with radiation reflecting off those technological devices? It couldn't be help considering that I had to study for three tests using Quizlet's flashcard function which was highly effective. They were all for this particular class. I stayed in the library for about six hours (I did not had any classes that day) studying and taking the tests to determine the effectiveness of studying through this method. I wouldn't have gone to school that day to take three tests I hadn't waited until the last minute (like many of my classmates, lol) 7/10 I would do it again, though, since I just started using this method that Tuesday. I would like to thank one of my classmate to introducing me her method of studying.
Now back to Wednesday, it was the last day of in-class lecture, and I had to take two more tests for that particular class and I would be done! (well... until I have to take the final exam this upcoming Wednesday) However, I just couldn't handle looking at the screen of the iPod because my eyes were giving up. It was dryer than usual (I used to constantly straighten my hair which caused my eyes to lose its 'I can't come up with the word right now but it's like a layer of water' from the smoky heat coming off the product. Watery and semi-blood-shot eyes were forming whenever I look at the screen. I begin to develop a headache. My body is heating up. I had to go the girls restroom to water a piece of napkin to wipe the condition of my eyes. It barely helped. I felt fatigue-like. I had one more test to complete. I had to hurry and rush studying the chapter. I wanted to go home and be on my bed resting. I did what I wanted to do, and took the test after 10 minutes of coming up with the decision. 88% on the test which isn't bad, but I could have done better if I didn't had those symptoms affecting my health. Oh well. Well, I get to finally head home!
Thursday comes along, I spent most of the day taking care of my health. Night time reaches, I thought about each class' final exams and assignments. I didn't want to postpone or start anything by the time I'm feeling much better, and so I decided to start preparing on one of my class' final exam - the same class and the same method. Things didn't turn out well. I wear prescribed glasses, so if I were sick and have to wear glasses my eyes will become irritated and sensitive - water in the form of tears will heavily develop and blood-shot eyes will appear. This will continue for about three hours + having to blow my nose from the constant dropping of mucous (I think they are called?) I completed four chapters out of sixteen chapter that night. It was terrible. And so today, I completed eleven chapters. Five more to go which could be done by tomorrow morning. Plus, the completion of one of my class' by doing the final exam since I want to eliminate the easiest assignments first then deal with the important assignments (or those that I barely started on). My condition has been healing immensely. Yay! Thursday night up until next Thursday night will cause pain to my hands from heavily typing, a decline is sleeping hours, and dry eyes.
Oh... this is like a diary.
This semester has been great! I think I've been active in achieving A's or B's since the past semesters I wouldn't think much about my future since I was a very unsure person who had no ambition in life. I think choosing a major has impacted my attitude. Initially, I planned to head to the nursing program but after much thoughts, is this what I want to be? Although people would say it's a good pay, well yeah, that's true, but I think people should be in a profession they are tolerable in. There are nurses (this can go be said to other jobs) who took the job more towards the pay. Have you ever visited or volunteered at a hospital where the elderly makes up most of the resident population, and you would witness less than mediocre performance in treating the residents? You would feel sympathetic. Hopefully I will be able to chose a major by next year. I wish for you all to continue achieving your goal(s). However, some people may not have any particular goals in set. That's okay, it'll come your way when the right time comes and your attitude toward it. Be an ambitious individual! Have a wonderful life! ヽ(•‿•)ノ❤
Hasta la vista, baby!

Are you my friend, or did you just befriend me to 'help' you achieve your desired grade? I don't like befriending people only to discover their main motive is for people to 'help' them with their assignments. I sit one on the same table as this particular person. If I were to take a quick glance at her, she would most likely be on her phone texting. A new incoming message - the phone on the table vibrates, she picks it up and replies to the text; a cycle occurs every so often. She could've put it on silent if she expects to receive texts throughout the class period. I think it's rude to do other activities while the teacher is lecturing on the given subject of the day. Usually we are given a quiz at the end of lecturing. Quizzes are based on what he mentions in his lecture. Well, because she barely pay attentions to the lecture, she ask for answers from those sitting in our table. Of course, people are willing to help since many of my classmates are nice. But helping someone who didn't pay attention and wanting help from those who did pay attention ain't fair. She doesn't deserve those A's she receives on her quizzes.
This sounds like diss, doesn't it? Moral of the story, this particular girl is just using me (and others). If you're not putting effort to establishing a friendship, then I will surely do the same.
One of our recent quizzes, she used the numbers that I had from the day we walked around the great lawn. See, I wasn't with her, I was by myself walking around the lawn and she was with the rest of the people we sit with on our table. She most likely depended on one of the girl since I asked her what were her numbers to which she replied I don't know. How could she not know when all you have to do is just count your steps? Therefore, on our quiz, we both had the same everything.
The week before our recent exam, she asked me what day will be taking the exam (via Laulima) to which I replied Sunday of that week. When that day finally approached, I received a text from her what time am I taking the exam - sometime around the afternoon. And so I here I am working on the exam over an hour in, I receive a text from wanting to know the answer of the questions she doesn't know. Ahh, so that's her motive... to want to answers to the exam. I am given about five questions that were obviously rushed. What? You want me to give you the answers to these questions? Nuh uhhhh! Because every student will not have the same questions due to not cheating, I sent her a text that I don't have any of these questions. hehehe. Well, she never replied back to my text. I received another text asking me if I have these questions, but by that time I'm already done with the exam. That pretty rude of her.

For the past two days I've been stricken with the sickness. I threw up multiple explosive 'waterfalls'. I noticed there were green vegetables (I can't recall the name of it) that I had for dinner the day before. The cause must have been from the food I ate for dinner Thursday night since I felt normal during the day. I was not able to go to the school to take a test on Saturday although you could take the test before the given due date which is May 07 but I would like to take all the tests I haven't taken before finals week.
After I finished my Friday class, I headed straight to the Satellite City Hall located in Kalihi-Kapalama to get a state ID. Because price changes will be effective after May 01, why not renew or get yourself an ID before paying twice the cost? It was a great decision! That day, there were so many people that the lines are barely moved! I've waited in line for almost two hours! It was terrible wait! For the most part of the wait, someone from the end of the line noticed that there was only one registrar(?) available. People were complaining because of that. I asked my mom if we could switch because I couldn't deal with the excruciating pain coming from my back and feet (sorry mom). Thanks to my mom, I was able to rest until the line was close to the beginning of the line. However, I my body temperature worsened, and I became nauseous from the loud atmosphere. Well, after we were done, I had Lipton's chicken noodle soup (I prefer Campbell's version). Today, I'm feeling alright.

The song currently playing is Wang Lee-Hom's (王力宏) You and Me (你和我). It is an inspirational song to me. When I'm feeling discontent with myself, this song would be one the few songs that would cheer me up! If you would like to check out the English lyrics to those who aren't able to understand Mandarin Chinese, check out this blog who did an excellent job (http://hansholic.blogspot.com/2009/06/wang-lee-hom-ni-he-wo-you-and-i-s-lyric.html) Because the semester is coming to an end, assignments and exams will be dodging my way like bullets. When I want to feel accomplished, listening to tracks that motivates me to become determined which gives me the urge to finish my assignments with the best I can do (of course, aiming for A's or B's). I'm currently replaying this song for almost an hour to finish the academic article assignment. To achieve an A or B on for this essay, I have to find strength (since I feel like hurrying to go to sleep) to complete the essay. So far it seems to be going well but I'm unsatisfied with the product because of my use of lexicon and grammar.

Tomorrow, the 14th of April is the birthday of my best friend who will be turning 20 this year. I won't be able to congratulate her a happy birthday in person, but I will do so by via Facebook. This is because she's currently in Arizona for her studies. It's great to know that I'm her only friend to know her birthday since she likes to keep that information private.
I finally logged in to my Facebook account after three weeks or so, and of course, there is a message notification from her asking me 'How am I' in a playful way that hasn't been replied since the last time I went on. Sometimes I dread going on Facebook since I'm not that interested to know what has been going on in other people's lives, or I barely initiate a chat with others unless it's received to me. But one of my motives to log in my account is because I like to chat with her and update with each other's lives, or anything usually fun. So I replied to her message and asked the important question which is when will she come back home? A day later, she replied, on the 8th of May. That's the day after class instruction ends for our school! (Is that week finals week or the weeks before finals week?) I'll be able to hang out with her (as well as with other friends) more this summer unlike last summer where I only hung out with her once during the one month she was here. And then, the cycle of going back to the mainland will occur again once August hits. This year is also my 20th birthday in the second half of the year. I would to go back to my adolescent period, though.

Since this week's discussion relates to social media sites, I remember about eight years ago I created an account for a popular social media site at the time, that is Myspace. Ahh... fun memories that were made by my pre-teen self (haha). Circa 2006, Myspace and Runescape were the two sites that I would frequently go on to. I was in 10th grade (second year of high school) when I decided to abandon Myspace and switch to a new popular social media site which is Facebook. One of my friends was the person who introduced me to Facebook during a class we had together. I think one of her motives to tell me to make a Facebook account so that I can play Farmville where I can send gifts to help her build her farm.At the time I was new to Facebook, the layout was user-friendly unlike today's layout. Nowadays, I barely go one my account since I don't have much friends and people to talk to. I mainly keep my account active for my friend who lives in the mainland, specifically Arizona, where she attends university. Maybe in five years I'll be able to delete my account due to being inactive.

Yesterday night, my internet speed has reach an all time low at 1.0 mbps. Usually it the signal speed would range between 36.0 to its peak at 54.0 mbps. With the signal speed decreasing, it went from 1.0 mbps to no connection. No internet on the desktop computer. I just wanted to play PopKart, an online game you need to install in order to play, but I couldn't. And so I had to switch to using my iPod to use the internet. It's funny how the internet speed of my iPod does not 'lag' even if it's connected to the same router. Sadly I wasn't able to play PopKart. Because the signal strength has been at its weakest for a week, I was fed up with it and decided to off the power switch where the plug-in cord of the computer connects to the outlet. Hoping that it will be a successful attempt, it was! Today in the morning, I on the power switch of the outlet, on the computer monitor and the computer itself, and viola~ the signal strength is back to its best speed at 36.0 to 54.0 mbps! Yay!

I wouldn't consider this week Spring 'Break' since there are work to be done for each of my classes. I'll be on school campus for three times this week to take several tests for a class, and to visit the STEM center on Sunday to view the anatomical models for my exam two weeks from now. It's great that the school's library + testing center will be open for the most part this week!
Yesterday, my mom and I head over to Toyoto Servo down in Salt Lake to browse for a car. After being there for about thirty minutes, there were three models that captured my liking. They were the 2014 Camry SE, 2014 Yaris SE, and the 2014 Prius C. We eventually head home because I was undecided to which of these cars I want to own. My mom wasn't pleased since she wants to buy any of those cars right there, right now. But I want to look on the web to see each car's specs. The information given on the paper on a car is vague. And so by doing my research, the 2014 Camry SE is worthy of my choice. However, I'm still unsure about purchasing the car. I'm not sure what car to purchase since it'll be with for a long time if I decided to purchase another car in the future. Any suggestions on what car to get?

My mom will be retiring from her job on the last day of this month. She will be holding a small party in her workplace on that day. Sadly, I won't be able to join the party because I have classes during the hours it will run. When she first told me that the party will be 'next Monday', I though she meant on the 24th where Spring Break falls. I was excited but then plans were shattered when she told me the date of the party. There will be food worth almost $400 and they were all good choices picked by my mom. And I won't get the chance to eat any of the food since those attending will most likely eat and bring home food. Plus, there will be home-cooked miki, which is my favorite Filipino food prepared by my aunty. Well, this is my mom's retirement party after 20 years on the job, and I won't be there to attend :(
