Tomorrow, the 14th of April is the birthday of my best friend who will be turning 20 this year. I won't be able to congratulate her a happy birthday in person, but I will do so by via Facebook. This is because she's currently in Arizona for her studies. It's great to know that I'm her only friend to know her birthday since she likes to keep that information private.
I finally logged in to my Facebook account after three weeks or so, and of course, there is a message notification from her asking me 'How am I' in a playful way that hasn't been replied since the last time I went on. Sometimes I dread going on Facebook since I'm not that interested to know what has been going on in other people's lives, or I barely initiate a chat with others unless it's received to me. But one of my motives to log in my account is because I like to chat with her and update with each other's lives, or anything usually fun. So I replied to her message and asked the important question which is when will she come back home? A day later, she replied, on the 8th of May. That's the day after class instruction ends for our school! (Is that week finals week or the weeks before finals week?) I'll be able to hang out with her (as well as with other friends) more this summer unlike last summer where I only hung out with her once during the one month she was here. And then, the cycle of going back to the mainland will occur again once August hits. This year is also my 20th birthday in the second half of the year. I would to go back to my adolescent period, though.
Interesting... I wonder who would want to keep their birthday private? What reasons are there? I would guess her Arizona friends should know it as well.
ReplyDeleteYou don't seem too much like the social type. I think you should really try to be, as staying in your own comfort bubble really limits what you can do. Now and in the future.
I understand, I am also not that into the whole social media thing. I hope that you guys have fun when she gets back!!! I am always happy and excited when I get to see friends that I haven't seen in a while again.
