If you were at the school's library this week (also last week but it wasn't as 'severe' compared to this week) you may have witnessed many students who had been stricken with common cold.Coughing, sneezing, the sounds of sniffles, basically the atmosphere was considered unbreathable for those who did not want to catch it, like me. However, the library is the place for students to study or relax. You can't escape. Sooner or later you may be stricken with the common cold. And so, I eventually caught the common cold. Yay! (no, not really).
On Wednesday, the symptoms had gotten worst most likely because of Tuesday's prolonged use of staring at the screen of my iPod. I think it has something to do with radiation reflecting off those technological devices? It couldn't be help considering that I had to study for three tests using Quizlet's flashcard function which was highly effective. They were all for this particular class. I stayed in the library for about six hours (I did not had any classes that day) studying and taking the tests to determine the effectiveness of studying through this method. I wouldn't have gone to school that day to take three tests I hadn't waited until the last minute (like many of my classmates, lol) 7/10 I would do it again, though, since I just started using this method that Tuesday. I would like to thank one of my classmate to introducing me her method of studying.
Now back to Wednesday, it was the last day of in-class lecture, and I had to take two more tests for that particular class and I would be done! (well... until I have to take the final exam this upcoming Wednesday) However, I just couldn't handle looking at the screen of the iPod because my eyes were giving up. It was dryer than usual (I used to constantly straighten my hair which caused my eyes to lose its 'I can't come up with the word right now but it's like a layer of water' from the smoky heat coming off the product. Watery and semi-blood-shot eyes were forming whenever I look at the screen. I begin to develop a headache. My body is heating up. I had to go the girls restroom to water a piece of napkin to wipe the condition of my eyes. It barely helped. I felt fatigue-like. I had one more test to complete. I had to hurry and rush studying the chapter. I wanted to go home and be on my bed resting. I did what I wanted to do, and took the test after 10 minutes of coming up with the decision. 88% on the test which isn't bad, but I could have done better if I didn't had those symptoms affecting my health. Oh well. Well, I get to finally head home!
Thursday comes along, I spent most of the day taking care of my health. Night time reaches, I thought about each class' final exams and assignments. I didn't want to postpone or start anything by the time I'm feeling much better, and so I decided to start preparing on one of my class' final exam - the same class and the same method. Things didn't turn out well. I wear prescribed glasses, so if I were sick and have to wear glasses my eyes will become irritated and sensitive - water in the form of tears will heavily develop and blood-shot eyes will appear. This will continue for about three hours + having to blow my nose from the constant dropping of mucous (I think they are called?) I completed four chapters out of sixteen chapter that night. It was terrible. And so today, I completed eleven chapters. Five more to go which could be done by tomorrow morning. Plus, the completion of one of my class' by doing the final exam since I want to eliminate the easiest assignments first then deal with the important assignments (or those that I barely started on). My condition has been healing immensely. Yay! Thursday night up until next Thursday night will cause pain to my hands from heavily typing, a decline is sleeping hours, and dry eyes.
Oh... this is like a diary.
This semester has been great! I think I've been active in achieving A's or B's since the past semesters I wouldn't think much about my future since I was a very unsure person who had no ambition in life. I think choosing a major has impacted my attitude. Initially, I planned to head to the nursing program but after much thoughts, is this what I want to be? Although people would say it's a good pay, well yeah, that's true, but I think people should be in a profession they are tolerable in. There are nurses (this can go be said to other jobs) who took the job more towards the pay. Have you ever visited or volunteered at a hospital where the elderly makes up most of the resident population, and you would witness less than mediocre performance in treating the residents? You would feel sympathetic. Hopefully I will be able to chose a major by next year. I wish for you all to continue achieving your goal(s). However, some people may not have any particular goals in set. That's okay, it'll come your way when the right time comes and your attitude toward it. Be an ambitious individual! Have a wonderful life! ヽ(•‿•)ノ❤
Hasta la vista, baby!
I caught a cold too last week but was not sure where I got. Now, ya, the library! This common cold has been around quite long time. Hope we both feel well soon! 1 more week then we are all on vacation!
ReplyDeleteI really like the music you have playing on this page!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you got sick during finals week. What terrible timing! Congratulations on finishing your semester with such good grades. Enjoy your summer break!
I really like the music as well. I still have 1 more week to go... finals week, come at me!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how KCC is like, as I am attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Nonetheless, I agree, libraries are awesome, except when a lot of the inhabitants have the cold. ._.
